Whether they will publish or otherwise make available the format of the "environmental assessments" and the nature of the cost/benefit analyses that British Rail is conducting into the Channel Tunnel Fast Rail Link, including the variations required if the link is to carry only passengers, or both freight and passengers.
§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Transport (Lord Brabazon of Tara)Before a Bill is introduced in Parliament the Government will need to satisfy themselves that a proper environmental assessment has been carried out and that a satisfactory statement will be available to the Select Committee. So far as concerns the work already carried out by BR and their consultants, I will pass the noble Lord's request on to Britsh Rail, who have responsibility for these matters.
