asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the Prime Minister's declaration of "paramount loyalty to the United States" represents government policy and if so what are the implications for (a) the armed forces; (b) the diplomatic service; (c) prosecutions etc., under the Official Secrets Act; (d) our fellow members of the European Community; (e) our fellow members of the Commonwealth; and (f) our fellow members of NATO.

I shall not indulge the noble Lord. He knows full well that the security of this country rests ultimately on the United Kingdom commitment to NATO.
