On whose authority Israeli officials organised a search party and examined wreckage at Lockerbie.
§ The Minister of State, Scottish Office (Lord Sanderson of Bowden)No search party was organised by Israeli officials, nor was any wreckage examined by them at Lockerbie, and no authority for any such search party or examination was given. A senior officer in the Israeli National Police with responsibility for training for the eventuality of such a disaster was present at Lockerbie solely as an observer. In this capacity he was allowed restricted access to some departments and areas.
