To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he expects falls in e level of intervention stocks in the coming year.

Intervention stock levels are influenced by a wide range of factors, notably harvest size, market demand and EC support arrangements. The measures agreed by the European Council in February 1988 exert downward pressure on surplus production and thus help to limit intervention.
