To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what new initiatives he intends to take to improve the purity of food.

Both the nutritional value and the safety of food are kept under close and continuous review by an expert advisory committee, whose most recent report, entitled "Food Surveillance 1985 to 1988" was published last November. The report is available in the Library of the House.
