Mr. Doran

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what has been the cost to the Health and Safety Commission under paragraph (e) of the agreement between them and the Department of Energy in respect of the exercise of the Commission's functions under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 for each year since the agreement came into operation.

In addition—following extension of the Department's responsibilities under the agreement to include advising on policy, particularly the development of regulations, approved codes and other material under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act—a PES transfer of £0.1 million was made from the Commission to the Department in 1981.
