§ Mr. Blunkett
To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science when he anticipates that the first testing of seven-year-olds will be introduced into schools in England and Wales.

§ Mrs. Rumbold
The first national assessment of seven year olds is planned for 1991. The first fully reported run will be in 1992.
