To ask the Secretary of State for Wales (1) if he will publish the Clwyd county council report on Elm crossroads, Alltami, Mold Clwyd; and if he will make a statement; if he will implement urgently the findings of the report and make available cash for the proposed improvements; and if he will make a statement;

(2) if he will list the short-term measures Clwyd county council proposes to improve road safety at Elm crossroads; and if he will make a statement.

Clwyd county council has reported that Elm junction has a comparatively low accident record and should not be improved in advance of consideration of possible overall improvement of the A494 between Hawarden bypass and the proposed Mold bypass. In the meantime the county council has been instructed to implement its recommended alteration to traffic signs at the junction and their illumination.
