To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what his Department has done to promote tourism in the inner cities; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Lee

The network of city action teams (CATS) have supported a significant number of initiatives and projects designed to develop inner city tourism potential. In addition my Department's regional enterprise units, working with the English tourist board and the regional tourist boards, have continued to give priority to inner city areas in promoting and developing tourism in this country.
