To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will urgently take steps to remove British Broadcasting Corporation and Independent Broadcasting Authority board appointments from direct Government involvement.

No. The current arrangements work satisfactorily.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will urgently introduce legislation giving the right of participation in the work of the boards of the British Broadcasting Corporation and the Independent Broadcasting Authority to elected representatives of all the professionals and technicians, producers and workers.
