§ Mr. TrippierHousebuilding figures reported by London boroughs and, until its abolition the GLC, are published for the local authority, housing association and private sectors in table 1 of "Housebuilding in England by local authority areas: 1980 to 1987". These figures include building outside boroughs' own areas, details of which are given in table 2(b). Geographical information on GLC build and building by housing associations assisted by the GLC are given in table 3.
Housebuilding figures reported for 1979 are given in table 4(b) of "Local Housing Statistics", issue No. 59. Housing association figures are shown under the heading "Other public sector" and include activity by Government Departments; for London this amounted to three starts and 161 completions. A geographical breakdown of GLC build and build by housing associations assisted by the GLC is given in table 7 of "Local Housing Statistics", issue No. 53. No boroughs reported any building activity outside their own areas in 1979.

Figures for housing co-operatives are not reported separately to the Department. Activity will be included either in the housing association sector or the private sector depending on the type of co-operative.
