HC Deb 10 November 1988 vol 140 c309W
26. Mr. Parry

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement on the implications for Northern Ireland of the restriction recently imposed on the broadcasting authorities.

Mr. Tom King

I very much welcome the Home Secretary's recent announcement. The vast majority of people in Northern Ireland, as elsewhere in the United Kingdom, find it deeply offensive to see the terrorists and their allies appearing on radio and television, particularly in the wake of terrorist outrages, justifying their actions while at the same time being accorded the same courtesies as constitutional politicians.
