§ Mr. WigleyTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will list for every housing authority in Wales(a) the latest estimated cost of housing improvement grants applications which were received prior to 31 March 1984, (b) the sums spent by each authority during 1987–88 on such improvement grants and (c) the estimated date, on current seasonal availability, by which each district will have cleared the backlog of pre-31 March 1984 improvement grant applications.
§ Mr. GristThe value of renovation grant applications made before 31 March 1984 which were outstanding at the end of June 1988 are given in columns 1 to 3 of the table. Columns 3 to 6 give expenditure on all grants in 1987–88. The statistical returns made by local authorities to the Department do not relate the sums paid to the year in which applications were made. It must be for individual local authorities to determine the priority they wish to afford such applications within the total of resources available to them.
