§ Mr. McTaggartTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many occupied dwellings in(a) Glasgow and (b) Scotland lacked one or more of the standard amenities at the most recent available date.
§ Lord James Douglas-Hamilton[pursuant to his reply, 1 November 1988]: The available information is limited to the total number of occupied and vacant dwellings falling below the tolerable standard amenities included in the standard. At 31 March 1987 there was a total of 4,814 such dwellings in Glasgow, according to the return submitted by the district council. The comparable figure for Scotland is estimated at 35,000.
