HC Deb 20 May 1988 vol 133 c599W
Mr. Home Robertson

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for East Lothian on 16 May,Official Report, column 347, if he will list the 26 sites for radioactivity monitoring stations in Scotland; and if it is his intention to make information collected at these stations available to the public.

The location of a number of the 26 monitoring stations to be established in Scotland has yet to be decided. Those 18 sites which will be established this year under phase 1 of the scheme are as listed. (I regret that my reply of 16 May erroneously gave this number as 20.) The locations of the remaining eight sites required to complete the network will be decided later this year and their installation and the automation of all 26 sites are expected within the next two years.

The information collected at these stations will be made available to local authorities and to other interested bodies or members of the public.
