To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what assistance will be provided by Her Majesty's Government in the setting up of the Central American Parliament; and if he will make a statement.

At the San Jose IV meeting in Hamburg we and our European partners agreed to provide assistance in the holding of elections to the Central American Parliament. The form of the assistance is to be defined in discussion between the European Community and the Central American Governments.
