§ Mr. Kenneth BakerI am pleased to announce that, together with my right hon. Friends, the Secretaries of State for Scotland and Wales, I am appointing Sir Bryan Nicholson, chairman of the Post Office, as chairman of the Council for National Academic Awards. He will shortly succeed Sir Ronald Dearing who is relinquishing the post to take the chair of the Polytechnic and Colleges Funding Council. Sir Bryan's term of office will be three years.
