§ Ms. RuddockTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will give the nurse-patient ratio in the Lewisham and North Southwark district health authority for each of the last 10 years.
§ Mrs. CurrieInformation on nursing and midwifery staff and hospital activity levels in Lewisham and North Southwark health authority from 1982 to 1986 is provided in the tables. Prior to 1 April 1982 the authority's predecessor health districts formed part of the Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham area health authority and district-based figures were not collected centrally. The nursing and midwifery staff figures cover a wide range of Health Service activity, not just those related to hospital activity, and calculation of a nurse-patient ratio would be simplistic and might be misleading.
