§ Mr. RentonInformation on the total numbers of asylum applications outstanding at the end of 1986 was published by nationality of applicant in "Refugee Statistics, United Kingdom, 1986" — Home Office Statistical Bulletin, No. 13/87—a copy of which is in the Library. Reliable information on the breakdown of these figures by length of time the application had been outstanding could be produced only at disproportionate cost. It is planned to publish a further bulletin relating to 1987 later this year.
