To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether any changes are proposed to entry clearance fees.

Revised fees have been introduced along with a new category of entry clearance (double entry), with effect from 1 June 1988. the charges were approved by the Privy Council on 25 May. The principal fees will be as follows:

Single entry clearance 20 (no change)
Double entry clearance 30 (new category)
Multi entry clearance 44 (40)
Settlement and other long term entry clearances 60 (50)

The last fee has been non-refundable since 1 January 1986. All entry clearance fees will be non-refundable from 1 June 1988. From the same date fees will be charged on a per capita, not per passport, basis.
