§ Mr. BidwellTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what requests he has received from Indians resident in the United Kingdom asking him to make representations to the Indian Government on recent events in Amritsar.
§ Mr. EggarWe have received 24 identical written requests from the International Sikh Youth Federation and a number of Sikh temples. In addition the federation sent a telemessage. We have also received similar requests from four of the temples under cover of letters from hon. Members. We have had no other requests.
