§ Mr. Michael ForsythThe term wildlife pest is taken to mean species of wildlife which do damage to livestock and crops and which are not protected under the provisions of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The use of poisonous chemicals for the purposes of controlling wildlife pests is governed by the Protection of Animals (Scotland) Act 1912, the Animals (Cruel Poisons) Act 1962, the Poisons Act 1972, the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and the Food and Environmental Protection Act 1985.
