HC Deb 25 July 1988 vol 138 c119W
Mr. Allan Stewart

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received on the role of the Scottish Development Agency in promoting crafts in Scotland; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Lang

[holding answer 18 July 1988]: In the last two years 16 representations have been received on the funding and organisation of support for Scottish crafts. The Scottish Development Agency, which is responsible for several aspects of such support, is currently considering future arrangements and will be seeking ministerial approval for any changes in structure in due course. All those involved in the provision of support for Scottish crafts are aware of the importance of providing a viable long-term operating structure and are working towards that end.
