HC Deb 04 July 1988 vol 136 c445W
Dame Jill Knight

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what steps are being taken to ensure that funding identified for dental hospitals under the service increment for teaching allocation is reaching the teaching hospitals concerned.

Mr. Newton

The service increment for teaching is separately identified as a cash sum in regional health authority allocations. It is for the regions to determine how their SIFT allowances should be apportioned between districts, as part of the wider process of planning and funding the full range of teaching districts and teaching hospital activity within their region.
