To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has about the importation of vicuna wool into the United Kingdom during the past five years.

Except for one consignment of yarn in February 1983 from a European country to which it had been legitimately imported prior to 1975, no permits have been issued for the import of vicuna wool into the United Kingdom during the past five years.
