To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has as to how many submissions or other representations had been received at 31 December 1987 by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England, in relation to each of the metropolitan districts in Merseyside, Greater Manchester, South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire in connection with the current Boundary Commission reviews which started on 1 September 1987.

[holding answer 22 January 1988]: None. It is for the commission to consider such representations and to report to my right hon. Friend when it considers it is in a position to do so. At this stage, the Department has no need of such information.
