HC Deb 25 January 1988 vol 126 c68W
Mr. Tony Banks

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give details of the alleged damage to Islay caused by Greenland whitefronted geese.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

The number of Greenland whitefronted geese wintering on Islay has more than doubled in recent years and large flocks of up to 500 birds are causing serious damage to grassland on certain farms outwith the sanctuary areas.
