§ Mr. Douglas HoggWe are aware of the allegations which have been made about Masonic influence in the Metropolitan police, and the concern to which these have given rise. We are also aware of the need to respect the freedom of choice of the individual police officer where this does not affect his impartiality. My right hon. Friend will be discussing the matter with the Commissioner.
