§ Mr. Peter BottomleyIt is estimated that between 13,000 and 15,000 vehicles per day will transfer from the M1 to the M40 in the first year after its opening. This would represent between 11 per cent. and 17 per cent. of the total traffic on the M1 between London and the M6 junction.
