To ask the Secretary of State for Energy if he will publish the average level of Government subsidy per tonne of deep-mined coal in each year since 1978 in each of the member states of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

[holding answer 11 February 1988]: The OECD does not publish details of aid to member states' coal industries. The information in the table has been obtained from European Commission publications.
