§ Mr. ChopeThe London residuary body did not inherit its functions from the former GLC until 1 April 1986. On that date the LRB employed 3,580 staff. It currently employs 2,114 staff. Future staffing levels are a matter for the LRB to determine having regard to its remaining functions and workload. On present forecasts, it estimates that staff numbers will have fallen to 900 by the end of 1988–89. All figures are full-time equivalents.
