My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State said during the recent debate on the London Regional Transport (Levy) Order 1988 that we intend to see Londoners enjoying the benefits of deregulation as soon as practicable, and that accordingly we have asked London Regional Transport to bring forward early proposals for the restructuring of London Buses Ltd. into smaller units which will be able to operate commercially in a competitive environment.
