HC Deb 22 February 1988 vol 128 c73W
42. Mr. Fraser

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, on how many occasions the London fire brigade has been called to King's Cross underground station because of a fire or suspected fire since 18 November 1987; on which dates these calls were made; how many appliances attended on each occasion; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. David Mitchell

I understand from London Underground Limited that since 18 November 1987, the London fire brigade has been called to King's Cross underground station on five occasions. Three calls were false alarms — on 17 December, 10 January and 4 February. The other two calls were on 8 January and were in connection with tests carried out in connection with the formal investigation into the causes of the fire on 18 November. No record is kept by London Underground of the number of fire appliances attending calls.
