HC Deb 15 December 1988 vol 143 cc663-4W
Mrs. Clwyd

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales, if he will list by district health authorities(a) the number of people between 65 and 75 years of age who have been identified as needing or having (i) hip replacements, (ii) cataracts, (iii) chest complaints, (iv) heart disease, (v) strokes, (vi) Parkinson's disease, (vii) Alzheimer's disease

Mr. Brooks. I note particularly that Mr. Leigh in his book (at page 245) claims that, when Mr. Wright approached Mr. Brooks with the proposition for taking action relating to Lord Wilson, then the Prime Minister, Mr. Brooks responded that the proposition was improper. I would remind you of the Prime Minister's statement on 6 May 1987 in which she told the House that an investigation carried out by the Director General of the Security Service had found no evidence of any plot against Lord Wilson or his Government. There will be no criminal proceedings."
