To ask the Attorney-General if he is yet in a position to make a statement on Mr. Tony Brooks in relation to alleged illegal acts referred to on 14 November,Official Report, column 739.

The Solicitor-General wrote to the hon. Member for Workington on 18 November in the following termsPursuant to my answer to your oral question on 14 November, I have caused inquiries to be made into your intimation of possible allegations in the Panorama programme broadcast on 13 October, or in David Leigh's book on the Wilson plot that Mr. Tony Brooks was involved in a plot to destabilise the Government of Lord Wilson, or committed illegal acts. There is in neither the programme, nor the book, any evidence, or indeed any allegation of any criminal activity by
