§ Mr. David MitchellThose who made the 45 written responses to the discussion paper are listed as follows. Almost all were opposed. Thirteen hon. Members have also written to me about it. I have discussed the proposal with representatives of the Association of Metropolitan Authorities and hon. Members representing constituencies in Greater Manchester.
Copies of all the written responses received up to 30 March were placed in the Libraries of both Houses on that day, as I announced in my reply of that date to my hon. Friend the Member for Birmingham, Northfield (Mr. King). I am today placing copies of subsequent responses in the Libraries of both Houses.
