§ Mr. Gowasked the Attorney-General what changes he proposed to make in the 1987–88 cash limit for class XX, vote 29 Law Charges, England and Wales (Treasury Solicitor's Department) and to the Treasury Solicitor's running costs limits.
§ The Attorney-GeneralSubject to parliamentary approval of the necessary Supplementary Estimate the cash limit for the Treasury Solicitor's Department will be increased by £287,000 from £9,813,000 to £10.100,000 507W reflecting an exceptional volume of work partially offset by a higher level of receipts. This increase is being charged to the reserve and will not add to the planning total of public expenditure. There has also been an increase of £912,000 in the gross running costs limit from £10,935,000 to £11,847,000. £287,000 of this increase is related to the cash limit increase, £517,000 is to cover the transfer of legal staff from the Department of Employment and £58,000 is a transfer from the Ministry of Defence for work arising from the repeal of section 10 of the Crown Proceedings Act 1947.
