HC Deb 05 May 1987 vol 115 c342W
Mr. Peter Bruinvels

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps he has taken to inform tenants about the terms of the Housing and Planning Act 1986.

Mr. Tracey

The Department's booklet "Your right to buy your home" has been revised to take account of changes introduced by the 1986 Act and copies were sent during February to tenants of council flats and maisonettes. The distribution was followed by a series of advertisements in the national press drawing attention to the new booklet, which tenants can obtain by sending in a freepost coupon. Further steps will be taken to draw the attention of the tenants to the other housing provisions of the Act where appropriate.
