§ Mr. Douglas HoggIt is the responsibility of the Hampshire police authority to determine the establishment of the force, subject to my right hon. Friend's approval. One hundred and fifty-one additional police posts have been approved for the force since May 1979, bringing the authorised establishment up to 3,105. The last application by the police authority was met in full by the approval, in August 1986, of 21 additional police posts.
