HC Deb 24 July 1987 vol 120 c704W
Mr. Amos

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will pay an official visit to the Tynedale area of Northumberland to discuss the implications for medical services in Tynedale and other general health care problems in the area of the proposal to transfer £250,000 from the Tynedale health unit to Ashington.

Mrs. Currie

We have no immediate plans to do so. The allocation of resources to district health authorities, in the light of available resources and competing local priorities, is the responsibility of the regional health authority. If my hon. Friend has any concerns about this particular development perhaps he would write to the chairman of Northern regional health authority.
