Mr. McGrady

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many and what amounts of grants have been made to fishing fleets in the South Down ports of Ardglass and Kilkeel in each of the last three years.

Fishermen can obtain assistance to construct and modernise fishing vessels from both United Kingdom and EC funds. Information on United Kingdom grant-aid in respect of individual ports could only be obtained at disproportionate cost but the figures for Northern Ireland as a whole are as follows:
