HC Deb 15 July 1987 vol 119 c487W
Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many teachers are presently unemployed; and how this compares with 1967 and 1977.

Mr. Viggers

At 14 May 1987 the number of unemployed claimants in Northern Ireland whose normal occupation was given as teacher was 1,495. The corresponding figure for unemployed registrants at 9 June 1977 was 451. Information for 1967 is not available.
