§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what investigation is being carried out by the immigration service into advice from staff of Electronic Data Systems, a copy of which has been sent to him by the hon. Member for Linlithgow about their behaviour when undergoing immigration control;
(2) when he expects to reach a decision as to whether to take legal action against Electronic Data Systems in relation to alleged breaches of immigration rules.
§ Mr. Waddington[pursuant to his reply, 15 January 1987, Vol. 108, c. 250]: Following allegations in September last year that breaches of the immigration laws had been committed by employees of Electronic Data Systems, careful inquiries have been carried out by the immigration service. Some irregularities were identified, but in none of the cases was prosecution considered practicable by the police.
