HC Deb 02 February 1987 vol 109 c514W
Mr. Greenway

asked the Attorney-General what progress has been made in negotiations with the Bar regarding the fee levels for prosecuting counsel for 1987–88.

The Attorney-General

Agreement has now been reached with the Bar regarding the levels of fee to be paid in 1987–88 to prosecuting counsel instructed by the Crown Prosecution Service. The agreement provides for increases in fees to be weighted in favour of the more substantial contested cases and improves the provisions relating to appearance fees. These changes will take effect from 1 April 1987.
