§ Mr. FreemanThe average daily bed occupancy of NHS in-patients at United Kingdom service hospital facilities of the third quarter 1987 was 649, which included 121 service dependants. NHS patients are currently admitted subject to resources being available and treated without charge to the NHS. Exceptionally ex-service far east prisoners of war are treated on an extra cost basis and, at RAF hospital Ely, NHS patients are treated in 65 reserved beds under a local contract with the district health authority.
