To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what funding he will provide for the victims of the flooding at Strabane.

In my reply of 3 December 1987, at columns 638–69, I indicated to the hon. Member the help provided at that time. Last week I announced a further package of measures to help those in genuine need in both Omagh and Strabane, including the creation of 45 ACE posts to provide the much needed help to refit and redecorate damaged property. I would also encourage those who may be eligible for payments under the social security system to claim these entitlements immediately.
