HC Deb 10 December 1987 vol 124 c265W
18. Mr. Forth

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland when he plans to introduce greater parental choice of schools in Northern Ireland.

Dr. Mawhinney

I announced new arrangements on 7 April this year to abolish intake quotas to secondary schools which will give parents greater freedom of choice in the selection of secondary school for their children. The new arrangements are planned to take effect from September 1988.
