HC Deb 09 April 1987 vol 114 cc362-3W
Mr. Dubs

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what consultations he has had with the French authorities about his proposal that ferry companies should carry out identity checks on intending passengers to the United Kingdom before they are allowed to embark at French ports; and whether the French authorities are agreeable to his proposals.

Mr. Waddington

Officials have confirmed with the French authorities that there are no obstacles to the proposals in French law.
