HC Deb 25 March 1986 vol 94 c399W
Mr. Wainwright

asked the Paymaster General how many young people have now completed a YTS and gone into full-time employment aided by the young workers scheme; and what proportion of them are aged under 18 years.

Mr. Lang

Information is not held in the form requested. It is estimated that over 170,000 young people joining the young workers scheme since January 1982 will have had previous experience of YTS or the youth opportunities programme. All employees under the young workers scheme must be under 18 when first employed by the employer making the application.
