§ 16. Mr. Pikeasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what recent representations he has received regarding reductions in the provision of ambulance services.
§ Mr. WhitneyAs I advised the hon. Member in my answer of 25 February at column522 the Department has received a number of representations about various aspects of the ambulance service. Some of those have been concerned with the effects of local reorganisation. Others have been concerned with the application of the correct criteria of transport by the ambulance service, which is that it should be provided only when the patient has medical need for it.
